I was there. There was no booing. As a matter of fact, it was one of the most energetic and enthusiastic crowds I’ve ever seen in 47 years attending concerts.
If I recall, at the post tour press conference after the last show in Canada, the guys were asked “what was the most memorable show of the tour?” Pete and Roger both said “Louisville USA”
Agree with Ned Johnson – I’ve seen The Who numerous times over the past 50 plus years (including Woodstock). The October 1982 show was without a doubt one of the Top Ten. I’d never seen the entire band so engaged with a crowd… and have never seen the crowd go wild nonstop from the first song to the last. It was beyond magical. I also remember hearing the comments at the post tour press conference. If I recall, Roger mentioned that during the Louisville show, the energy level of the crowd was unlike any show of the tour.
My 3rd Who show…..they were more polished and spectacular at each one I attended.
Best concert I ever attended.
But sadly, I cannot remember, nor can I find who the opening act was! I remember the crowd booed them a lot, which was a bit sad.
Support act was T.Bone Burnett, Steve.
