The Who sold out all four nights in New York, 80,000 seats, on the strength of a single 60-second radio spot. ; Monday
Section 202, Row D, seats 13 & 14 & $7.50 per ticket. Cut high school and stood in line at Gertz Dept. store in Hicksville LI for tickets for hours (3rd on line) with my future wife. Saw the WHO for the first of 30 shows over the years starting on this date. Even with no encore and some questionable sound issues, we got to see them whole and at their prime. The Garden was full of pot smoke and crazy fans – Great memories every time we saw them play but the first time will always be special.
