Hi Guys
I had the privilege to have booked the Who at Skewen Ballroom in the sixties. The Who regularly played in Wales back then,at the time they were with the Malcolm Rose Agency. I also got to play my first ever game of Ten Pin Bowling with Kieth Moon and John Entwistle. I did get to know all of the band quite well at the time…..but hell folks…..that was years ago.
Kindest regards,
Tony
The ritz was famous throughout wales for the best groups and music.i feel ver fortunate to have been partof the ” ritz” scene in the 60 s, the most wonderful years of music. It was still very peace and love and none of the bs that goes on today.

I just Googled The Ritz, Skewen having turned up an old picture of the place before it was demolished and this site came up – and remember going there with Elizabeth Fenn in the 60’s. Magic!

And The Who were and remain the metre by which all bands are measured……….
Omg loved the Ritz l loved the 60s. Les Saville was the DJ – good memories
Eyes of Blue were brilliant in those days.
The other support this night at Skewen were The Iveys who became Badfinger.
